About the product

Shea butter is a plant oil obtained from the oily seeds of the African shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa), standing out with its natural structure. It is also known as karite butter. With its rich consistency, creamy texture and skin-friendly structure it is frequently preferred in personal care products. Solid at room temperature, shea butter softens and spreads easily on contact with the skin.

Widely used in cosmetic formulations thanks to its natural composition, shea butter can be found in creams, lotions, soaps, lip balms and hair care products. It has a distinctive light, natural scent. Its texture, moving between solid and soft, adds richness to formulations during product development.

A multipurpose ingredient for the cosmetics industry, shea butter is a raw material often chosen by customers looking for natural ingredients in their care routine.

Frequently asked questions

Why does it have a scent?
Unrefined shea butter smells slightly smoky and seedy. Unscented shea has been refined and loses some of its nourishing compounds.
Can it be used on the face?
It is used on dry skin, but it is a heavy oil and may clog pores on acne-prone skin.
How is it stored?
In a cool, dark place with the cap tightly closed. Fixed oils oxidise in light and heat, so use within six months to a year of opening.
