About the product
Castor oil is a natural plant oil obtained from the seeds of Ricinus communis, widely used in cosmetics and personal care for its thick consistency and characteristic texture.
Its thick, gel-like texture makes it a rich carrier ingredient in formulations.
Its natural character means it can be used in hair care products, soaps, creams, oil blends and various cosmetic formulations. With its light natural aroma, castor oil gives products a distinctive botanical character.
Castor oil can be obtained by different production methods such as refining or cold pressing, and may vary in scent and colour depending on the method. Cold-pressed, hexane-free types such as Allbio castor oil generally have a more natural aroma, while refined types offer a more neutral profile.
Thanks to its rich structure it can be used on its own or blended with more fluid oils in formulations. It is a raw material frequently preferred by consumers looking for botanical and natural ingredients.
How to use
- Take a drop onto a clean mascara brush.
- Apply to the base of the brows and lashes in the evening.
- For hair care, mix it half and half with almond or coconut oil.
- Cleanse with warm water in the morning.
Ingredients and purity
One hundred per cent pure castor oil (Ricinus communis), cold pressed.
It is unrefined. It is the most viscous oil in the range, which is its natural state.
Scent and feel
Light and slightly sweet, an unobtrusive scent. The texture is very thick and almost sticky, so it is diluted with other oils.
It leaves a film on the skin, which is why it is preferred for spot application.

Suitable for: face and body care, hair care, and as a carrier oil in aromatherapy blends.
Caution: it is for cosmetic purposes and is not to be eaten. Avoid contact with the eyes. Before first use, apply a drop to the inside of your arm and wait twenty-four hours. Do not use on open wounds or irritated skin. Not to be taken by mouth.

- Castor oil is naturally very viscous. When applying it to hair and skin, mixing it with almond or coconut oil makes it spread more easily.
- Does it really work on lashes?
- It is traditionally used in brow and lash care. It makes no claim to lengthen lashes; it is for care. Take care to keep it out of the eyes.
- How is it stored and how long does it keep?
- Cool, dark and tightly closed. Fixed oils oxidise in light and heat, so use within six months to a year of opening. If it smells sour, do not use it.
