About the product
Also known as tefarik. An essential oil obtained by steam distillation from tefarik leaves. 100% pure, no additives. It complies with Turkish standards and the European Pharmacopoeia. Sold in light-proof pharmacy bottles with a glass dropper.
How to use
- Add 3 to 5 drops to 100 ml of water in a diffuser.
- If you are applying it to the skin, mix at most 2 drops into 10 ml of carrier oil.
- A single drop on a tissue is enough to scent a room.
Ingredients and purity
One hundred per cent pure patchouli essential oil (Pogostemon cablin), obtained by steam distillation from the leaves.
It is undiluted. Its scent softens with age, and older patchouli is considered more valuable.
Scent and feel
Sweet earth, with a slightly smoky opening on top and a dark base reminiscent of cocoa underneath. Intense and recognisable.
Low volatility, a base note. It clings to clothing and skin for a long time.
Who it suits, who it does not
Suitable for: fragrance in a diffuser, massage diluted with a carrier oil, homemade care blends.
Caution: it is a pure essential oil, not to be applied directly to the skin or taken by mouth. Avoid contact with the eyes. Consult your doctor during pregnancy, while breastfeeding and under the age of six. Keep out of the reach of children.

- Why does the scent last so long?
- Patchouli is a base note; its molecular structure is heavy and it evaporates slowly. It is also used as a fixative in blends.
- Does it spoil over time?
- Quite the opposite. Patchouli is one of the few oils whose scent softens and deepens with age.
- How long does it keep?
- Two years after opening when stored cool, dark and tightly closed. For citrus oils that period drops to one year.
